Let's get MPA teachers the recognition they deserve!

There is an educator out there who has inspired you, challenged you, supported you and helped you realize your true potential. Take this opportunity to thank that extraordinary educator by nominating him or her for The Plain Dealer Crystal Apple AwardTM.

To nominate, visit nie.plaindealer.com click on the "Crystal Apple Award" link and tell us why your educator deserves this honor. Entries may also be mailed to: The Plain Dealer Crystal Apple Award, The Plain Dealer Plaza, 1801 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44114 or faxed to 216-999-4986. Each mailed or faxed entry must be between 175-350 words and include the educator's name, their subject/grade taught, the address of the school where the educator currently teaches, your name, your present grade (if applicable), your home address and phone number.

Each recognition period, an independent panel of judges will select three outstanding educators from the nominations – one from each of the following grade categories: K-5, 6-8 and 9-12, for a total of 12 Crystal Apple Award winners this school year. Each winning educator will be recognized individually at a surprise presentation at their school, and then will each receive their Crystal Apple at an awards banquet held at The Plain Dealer in May 2012.
