Keeping on Top of Academics

Second Trimester Underway
The second trimester kicked off on Monday, and staff and students undertook a new schedule of specials.

We understand that there were some unexpected offerings on some of your students' schedules.

With increased offerings in high-school courses, and a performance-based acceleration model, the MPA Upper School core schedule is remarkably complex. While we valiantly attempted to pair your student with interest-based specials, some pairings were assigned based on student/course availability. As we shared with families earlier this year, we are offering a series of special exposure courses throughout this academic year that will inform our permanent in-depth offerings for next year's specials.

The depth and variety of our exposure specials is geared to introduce our learners to new concepts,
enhance existing knowledge, and help your student learn more about their own academic and extracurricular preferences. We hope that you and your student will embrace this exposure year experience.

Volunteer Central - MPA Needs You!

Browns Game Volunteers
The Browns have 3 home games left this season and the MPA team could use more players!
Every year, the Browns concession stand raises between $15,000 and $20,000 for MPA.  In order to maximize the revenue, the stand works best with at least 16 or more volunteers. It is a fast-paced day with fun folks, earns volunteer hours and a dress down pass, and serves a great cause - your student!!

If you have one of the next 3 Sundays free, please join us!

All the details, as well as links to sign up for future games can be found on the MPA web site here . Just contact our team lead, Chris Harrison if you have any questions.  Thank you for your continued support of MPA!

Winter Concert Volunteers
If you have questions about becoming more actively involved with supporting the Winter Concert and fundraising, please contact Divina Elan.

Science Fair Support
Mrs. Eby and Mr. Kiddey need 4 to 6 volunteers to help students after school on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:30 to help guide students as they research and write the background report for their Science Fair project.  Please email Academic Enrichment Co-Chair Erica Coble to volunteer in this important and supportive role.

Tuesday Commitments are: Nov. 19 / Nov. 26 / Dec. 3 / Dec. 10 / Dec. 17 / Jan. 7 / Jan. 14

MPA Won Browns "ceREAL" Drive
Field Trip to Stadium Next Tuesday!

Giving Back Feels Great!
Way to go MPA! We are the official winners of the Browns "ceREAL" drive with over 220 boxes collected and more than $1,500 donated! Due to everyone's wonderful contributions and support, MPA community members will be able to take a private tour of the Brown's stomping ground, 1st Energy Stadium.

While the experience of touring the stadium will be a great reward, the best part of "winning" is that MPA's generosity and community activism will help feed families across the six counties that the Cleveland Food Bank serves.

Tour Information
Regarding the tour of 1st Energy Stadium, information and permission slips will be sent home TODAY to the families with the qualifying donation amounts. Please sign it and return on Friday, November 22 so we have an accurate count of who will or will not be joining the Tuesday trip. If you are sure your student will NOT be attending, please email Boosters, which will allow us to invite others.

We will need 10 parent volunteers to accompany children on this field trip.  If you are interested in being a chaperon, please visit this link to sign up . Please note that you must have a BCI on file and have attended the MPA volunteer training session.
