Menlo Park Academy Weekly Update- 9/28/12 This week... Reminders Calling Young Astronauts From the School Library Replacement Lunches Wish List Upcoming Dates Magazine Drive Exceeds Expectations Reminders Dress Code: Graphic t-shirts are not part of the Menlo dress code  Absences: Please call MPA in the case of of absence @ 440.925.6365 Arrivals: Any student who arrives at school at 8:35am or later is considered tardy, and must be signed in by a caregiver.    Volunteer hours: Your time is appreciated! Please log your volunteer hours online! click here  Calling Young Astronauts Join a team for Young Astronaut Day at NASA Glenn Research Center on 11/03/2012 Teams will participate in various science & engineering activities, while getting an inside look at NASA.  Typically, a real astronaut makes an appearance.  Teams are open to all MPA grade levels except  Kindergarten.  Interested students should contact Grant Henson  granthens@gmail.com Cost: $10/student  Date & location:  11/03/12 - 9 am to 3 pm NASA Glenn Research Center Lunch will be provided  Transportation details and chaperoning opportunities will be arranged once we find out how many students are interested. From the School Library  In the coming weeks, K-2nd grade classes will be visiting the school library to check out books.  Students in grades 3-8 are also welcome to visit the library during their free time to check out books. They may not use the library when there is a younger class in attendance. Parents, please reinforce these library rules with your students:  Students may check out one book at a time. To check out a book, fill out the book's card and put it in the white box. Returned books go on the cart outside the library door.  Please return the book within two weeks. Thanks, and happy reading! Replacement Lunches Please help your child double check that he/she has their lunch before heading to school.   In the case of emergencies, MPA will have a replacement lunch available begining next week . The lunches will include an Uncrustable, pretzels, fruit cup, water for a $2.00 fee. A notice will be sent home after the lunch is provided. We need YOU at the Browns Game! Volunteers are needed to fully staff the MPA concession stand at Browns stadium during home games.    Your support will help raise over $15,000 in operational funding!  Learn more about how to become part of the awesome Browns team & sign up today!  Wish List: Do you have old CD's and used board games that need a new home?
