Young Authors Week Activities
May 13-17, 2013

Guest Readers:  Lower school teachers made special visits this week to read to the studens they will be receiving next year.  This fun, reading focused time gave students an opportunity to meet their new teachers.

Guest Author:  This Thursday, May 16, we will host author
Dr. John Becker. Dr. Becker has authored numerous books both non-fiction as well as fiction. Our students grades k-5 will participate in assemblies the day of his visit. He will also enlighten our 2nd graders to the mysteries of big cats and assist our 5th grade writers in a focused writer workshop.
There will be a student/author luncheon held as well, allowing budding authors to ask more focused questions. Interested students submitted questions for the author to classroom teachers. Those names were then randomly drawn by grade level to participate in the event.
You can learn more about Dr. Becker's work here:
Students may purchase books and have them signed by the author during this day long event. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a check written to Dr. John Becker in a sealed envelope with your child on Thursday. Cost of his books are as follows:
