Volunteer's Make MPA Successful
Complete the Electronic Survey
Be a Part of the Action
The MPA community is one dedicated to enriching the lives of children. Each family's commitment to five hours of service a month make that an achievable goal.  As we improve our volunteering process, the first step is to find out interest and skills of volunteers.
You will receive an electronic survey this week to assist us in that endeavor.  All family members who intend to volunteer this school year at Menlo Park Academy are encouraged to complete the survey. You will then receive a call whithin the first month of school to discuss opportunities for you at MPA.
We are also looking for organized and dedicated inidividuals to chair a few of our committees:
School Day Support
Academic Enrichment
Quiz Night
Winter Concert
If you are interested in filling one of these important roles, please indicate that on the survey and someone will contact you next week.  Committee Chairs automatically receive their families total volunteer hour committment.
School Day Support/Field Trip Chaperone Training

MPA realizes that when working with students, understanding school protocols and procedures is important.  This year we will hold MANDATORY parent trainings to help ensure consistent communication and student safety. These trainings will last approximately 30 minutes in length and will be held several times at the start of each trimester. The dates and times for these meetings are:
Monday, September 9 @ 9:00 am and at 6:00 pm
Monday, November 18 @ 9:00 am and at 6:00 pm
Monday, March 10 @ 9:00 am and at 6:00 pm

If you are a school day support volunteer, please plan to attend one of these sessions.  To sign up click the links above.

Register Your Student
Edison Club is for the working families of Menlo Park Academy. The morning club opens at 7:00 a.m. and the afternoon club is open until 6:00 p.m. If you need to utilize Edison Club you must complete a registration form and mail it to the director Katie Gerba at 1116 Richmar Drive, Westlake, 44145 along with the $25 registration fee. Make checks payable to Menlo Park Academy with Edison in the memo.
The "inconsistent" schedule refers to those families whose job hours may change weekly or monthly. Please do not register for Edison if you think you might need it at some point in the year as a just in case situation. If an emergency arises, just contact Katie Gerba at and she can help you out.
There will be a parent meeting on Monday August 26th at 6:15 p.m. for all registered for Edison Club. Please attend to hear about changes, billing, etc and to sign the necessary paperwork for Edison Club.
